WACAP Extends Reach to Bulgaria

How Speaking the Impact of Family …

When Bulgarian governmental officials visited the U.S. this past April to learn more about American adoption, WACAP had the privilege of sharing the core beliefs that underlie what we do: “every child deserves a family and no child is unadoptable.” This past July, following the delegates’ April visit, members of the WACAP executive team travelled to Bulgaria to continue this conversation (see WACAP Journey to Bulgaria post).

… Can Bring Our Mission to New Planes

Today, WACAP is excited to announce it has joined Bulgarian adoption authorities in their commitment to finding adoptive families for children under state care. (Learn more about our newest international adoption opportunity here.) We are excited to welcome new families into this pioneer program and — with the Bulgarian government and a private nonprofit agency accredited to support international adoption — support the essential mission of finding homes for children.

WACAP (World Association for Children and Parents) is one of the largest and most experienced international nonprofit adoption and child assistance agencies in the United States. Since 1976, we’ve placed over 10,000 children with loving adoptive parents and provided food, medical care and education to more than 200,000 children around the world.

That’s awesome. Best wishes to you and the families as they work toward permanency for the children of Bulgaria. Perhaps when the first Bulgarian Ties families travel on the first Bulgarian homeland journey in July 2012, we can find a way to connect with what WACAP is doing. We are looking for a Project Kindness-Bulgaria project. Thoughts?
