When it comes to providing a loving, permanent home for a child, often the biggest barrier a family faces is financial. For many years, the federal adoption tax credit has made it possible for countless families to overcome this obstacle. The adoption tax credit is set to expire on December 31, 2012, and we need your help to make sure it doesn’t.
There are now bills in both the House (HR 4373) and the Senate (S 3616) that would make the Adoption Tax Credit permanent and refundable.
The more members of Congress who hear from their constituents and understand the importance of the adoption tax credit, the better the chance that a refundable credit will be included in the final tax package agreed upon by Congress.
