At WACAP, we’re so thankful to be part of a community that understands what a family can mean to a child. This community, made up of adoptive families, volunteers, donors, staff, and other friends, shared with us what they’re thankful for this holiday. We found their answers touching and inspiring, and hope you will too!
“I am thankful for my two wonderful children that are here thanks to WACAP’s help. I am also thankful for the great adoptive community that I have met through the classes and pizza nights here at this agency!”~Megan
“I have a lot to be thankful for. There was a time when I had resigned myself to the idea that I’d never have children. Then my own mom died and it just seemed really unfair that I not only couldn’t be a mom myself but I couldn’t even have my own mom with me either. So we decided to pursue adoption from my mom’s favorite country, and a place of many cherished memories: China. During that process as we waited for a travel date to pick up our son, I surprisingly became pregnant! Today I feel close to my own mother as follow her footsteps as a mom to two beautiful, amazing little boys, Leo and Cyrus. Life has some crazy twists and turns sometimes. But I love what it’s presented us this year.”~Erin
“We are thankful for the happiness our family has by just being together. Even on those rough days (which everyone has), we are so grateful that we were blessed to find each other and become a family!”~Dana
“I am thankful for the two wonderful children that came through the international terminal gate 22 years ago tomorrow. Happy Anniversary, Robi and Heather. It has been a great two decades.”~Frederick
“I am beyond thankful for our beautiful son Ezekiel who was brought to us through your African American Infant Program 5 1/2 years ago. He amazes me each and every day. Thank you!”~Brooke
“I am thankful for Elizabeth Rose of Wacap. She will always be near and dear to my heart. She is the one who gave me the referrals of both of my beautiful children I am also extremely grateful to be honored with the title of mummy.”~Dawn
“We are thankful for WACAP and the staff who never say no to any child, who never give up or stop advocating for the children of the world. We are thankful that or daughter Shruthi is a part of our family and because of WACAP’s determination she calls me Momma! Thanks WACAP!~”Cathy
